This LIttle Light of Mine...

Life's demands can really start to make you feel like your light (read: talents, energy, inspiration, motivation) is lacking. Thank you, Lord, for Psalm 18, which reminds us that we have at our disposal a never-ending source of help!

About PB and Joyly

PB and Joyly "showed up" in my morning bible writings several years ago as a way for me to express what I'd learned from the scripture I'd read. As I was studying Psalms, I began drawing this little girl (originally named Viola Blue, nicknamed "Joyly") and her frog friend, Phineas.

Yes, it seemed a bit silly to me that someone my age would start drawing cartoons along with their Bible readings, but I quickly pushed that aside because it was really fun to draw Joyly as she struggled with the meanings behind what she was reading in the Bible and tried to apply it to her everyday life.

Thank goodness she had her friend Phineas (PB) to help her. Phineas is very grounded and confident in these things:

- God is almighty

- God loves all his children

- There's no better example to follow than Jesus

- The Holy Spirit was sent to guide us through our days

and

- We are here to serve

It's my hope that PB and Joyly will be a cartoon that all ages can relate to. It's my goal to create something parents can enjoy and share with their kids and then perhaps start a discussion on their own.

Lastly, a "shout out" to my sweet great niece who told me I should definitely do this. She gave me just the push I needed.
